My first craft fair

Well today I had another first - my first craft fair at the Sele School in Hertford.

As I only booked it 2 weeks ago and only started my little business just over a month ago I've spent the last few weeks frantically making things to sell! I'm happy to say everything went really smoothly. It was an early start (there for 8am on a Sunday!) the setting up went well and I had lovely chats with the other stallholders. Everyone was really friendly and really happy to give me advice on things like improvements to my stall and getting bookings for other events etc.

The fair opened to the public at 10 and ran for 4 hours. It was also the first time a craft fair had been held at the school and I'm hoping they will be running another nearer Christmas which I would be interested in having a stall at.

I was really happy with how it went and I gained a lot of useful experience from it and I had 2 sales which covered the cost of the stall.

Here are a couple of photos of my stall:

I'd be really happy if people could give me feedback on the way it looked! Thank you x

Folksy Friday - Things I like ....

I just wanted to share a few items that caught my eye this week. There's no theme as such, just "things that I like!".

I really love these two photographs from LittleMouse's shop Nezumi. LittleMouse is a photographer and is new to Folksy, have a look at http://www.folksy.com/shops/LittleMouse

My very first blog!

Hi everyone,

I joined Folksy about a month ago now, and I'm really liking Folksy - you are all so very friendly and helpful. I have been gradually trying to get the hang of all the various types of self-promoting so I joined Twitter the other day and today I thought I'd try to get to grips with this thing called 'Blogging'. I'm a little embarrassed to say that although I use a computer daily I have no idea about all these social sites etc so I would love to know what you all think about this 'effort' ha ha!

Today's blog I think I'll just tell you a little about myself - you all know my lack of computer knowledge ha ha. I'm employed full -time as a secretary in London and my hobby for the last couple of years has been making jewellery and greeting cards. I recently thought I'd take it one step further. You can see what I do on Folksy at

and my facebook page is

Here are 2 of my favourite items in my own shop at the moment:

Anyway, I hope this has worked ok! I'm looking forward to the next one where hopefully I'll be more confident and will be able to show you the things I like from other Folksy shops.

Bye for now xx
